How to Make a Hangable Happy Easter Sign
Easter is right around the corner and it is time to make your house a little festive. A few years ago Curves for women had a fun contest. (The Curves I go to always have great games and incentives for us women to get working-out and staying healthy!
We were to make our own Easter hat using whatever we wanted to decorate it with. You can easily take this hat and hang it on the wall. Therecashmere scarfcharger plates are two Happy Easter signs on the hat, or you can write something whimsical.
The first place winner won a fashionable Curves handbag. I won first prize with this hangable Easter hat with signs!
What You Will Need
Straw hat (I chose pink, but you may choose whatever color you'd like)
Thick pretty ribbon- a pattern of your choice
Scissors
Glue gun & glue sticks
Small wooden signs -or create your own with small square and toothpick
Marker
Decorated wooden Easter eggs
Small Easter baby chick
Easter green grass - chose green and light purple irredescent grass
White bunny ears that you wear on your head - some may have glittery decorations on already as mine in photo does
White fake fur from craft area of store such as Wal-Mart
Old newspapers
Felt ball - either black or pink for nose
Cotton balls
Silk flowers of your liking
Yarn
Put old newspapers on your table or work area to protect it from hot glue. Take straw hat and cut yarn about eight to ten inches. Thread yarn through one side of the hat. Make sure the knot is on the front of the hat. (It will be covered with green grass later.) Now thread yarn on the opposite side of the hat and make a knot. This will be the yarn that hangs your hat to the wall. Please make sure it is straight and test it so it will hang nicely.napkin rings
Take the hat and line middle part that fits onto your head with white fake fur. Cut fur to fit over the hat top. (You can go over a bit as you will be covering it with the green grass.) Use glue gun to glue down the fur.
Take bunny ears and put on top of hat center. You may have to cut down the part that normally would go on your head so it will fit onto hat. Glue ears onto top of hat.
